Are you aware that cancer affects 1 in 3 people ? Like us probably not!. We didn't know and we didn't dream it would ever happen to us, but it did.
A member of our family was diagnosed with cancer in July of this year (2009), and on going treatment has made us aware of the need to improve the existing cancer Centre at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
Howard Web now wants to support the Lingen Davies Cancer Centre Appeal.
The Current Appeal for Lingen
Davies is to build a new cancer Centre at the royal Shrewsbury Hospital
to provide :-
• En-suit facilities
for the head and Neck Unit, where patients are treated for cancer
of the face, throat or mouth, and spend long periods of time in hospital.
• A new Clinic for
the Haematology Department, for patients with Leukaemia , Lymphoma
or other malignant blood disorders. - The current facility's are cramped
and more space is desperately needed.
• An Extension to
the Chemotherapy Day Centre - to provide the space to cope with
increased referrals, and to avoid long waiting lists.
• A new building is desperately needed to treat local cancer patients.
The current Appeal is to raise £3.2 m and so far £2.8 has been raised.
